Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her first roles on Broadway include the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors both on screen and stage for her entire career. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited-edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford has been working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. It's also available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway return will take place on March 20, 2023. He plays alongside Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that produced Hamilton is directing the musical. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key actors into the very first impeachment proceeding in America in over a century. Her two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive was her first significant role. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Additional Broadway roles are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver origins native, and now splits his time between Los Angeles.
